Lunatraktors are a performance art duo disguised as a folk band. They are obsessed with decolonisation, non-dualism, speculative folklore, queering tradition, resistance, ritual, and lament. They explore archives, museums and ruins, balancing improvisation and research, clowning and ceremony, mythology and memorial.
How do we grapple with the past? How do we connect to heritages and identities so tainted with imperial violence and misrepresentation? Who have we been, who are we now, and who might we become?
In Our Deepest Sympathies, Carli Jefferson and Clair Le Couteur bring together ten years of Lunatraktors practice, moving between textile, video, audio, sculpture, performance and costume.
