Lore and Land III Workshops, talks and events at Dartmoor Tors Festival

Field System is a proud partner of the inaugural Dartmoor Tors Festival, and we are hosting a number of events celebrating the folk culture of Dartmoor through visual arts, workshops, artist’s talks and discussions.

We are open 10.00am - 5.30pm over the festival weekend, so don’t miss your chance to visit our unique, Dartmoor inspired shop or to see the Lore and Land III exhibition in the gallery. This show is the collective works of South-West based artists Libby Bove, Gemma Dunnell, Abigail Tinnion, and Asha Uberoi and features new and unseen works by all artists, accompanied by a new sound artwork by George Radford. Lore and Land III creates a world concerned with effigy, belief in the otherworldly, the bestial, a connection to the land, and forgotten things.

And you can create your own artworks with the artists! Gemma Dunnell, Abigail Tinnion, and Asha Uberoi will be hosting Lore and Land III workshops on Sat 24th and Sun 25th May. Join the artists for a three hour workshop that will start with a tour of the exhibition then move to a hands-on creative session in the Field System studios, involving traditional hand-work and crafting, to make artefacts including zines, trinkets and trinket bags. This will be followed by a gentle walk around Ashburton where participants can continue to make their own art, complete their zines and collect items of interest with which to fill up their trinket bags.
