On Saturday 20th September, to mark the Autumn Equinox, Stroud’s famous Boss Morris and Devon’s infamous Beltane Morris will dance together in a celebratory performance of folk, dance, music, and costume!
Join us at 4.00pm at Field System Gallery for a special blessing ritual by Boss Morris, before the dancing begins with Beltane outside Ashburton Arts Centre next door – honouring the balance of dark and light at this turning of the year.
This event is part of our gallery show KIT – an exhibition of contemporary clothing and costume for ritual and resistance, featuring 15 invited artists and designers alongside the Boss Morris archive. This show marks the 10th anniversary of their founding and honours a decade of dance and new traditions. No need to book, its free!
Continue the celebrations in the evening with Angeline Morrison at Ashburton Arts Centre. Her Harvest Crown, created by May Queen Crafts, is featured in the KIT exhibition. Doors open at 7pm, performance begins at 7.30pm. Tickets for the evening event are available here.
