September at Field System.

We are welcoming the golden glow of the September sun into Field System next month with a bounteous offering of art and events. 

On Saturday 7th September we mark the beginning of Chloe Bonfield’s exhibition ‘Only in the Garden’, with a text/sound performance and an opportunity to enjoy a drink and meet the artist from 4pm. Her works explore and connect the outer world of the garden, the body and the subconscious within. 

September 7th is also the first day of Devon Open Studios, when Mark Jessett (FS co-founder) will be opening the door to the place where he paints, and where Field System products are made and printed. His paintings are a reflection on the magic of our nearby wild places, and he’ll be on hand to discuss their making and meaning.

We’re very excited for Saturday 14th September, when Ashburton Food Festival 2024 fills the town with all things delicious. We’ll be hosting a sale of perennial edible plants, courtesy of Incredible Vegetables. Come and find something new to add to your kitchen garden.

Thursday 26th September sees the start of Pedester *on foot/land, an exhibition of new work by Anita Reynolds. Focussed on Dartmoor and taking our inbuilt need to access wild places as her starting point for this show, Reynold’s prints, drawings and paintings are at once visceral and reflective, filled with an understanding of the moor that is only possible through time spent creating in that special landscape.
