A collection of scenes from behind the sky and the other side of the rain.
A recent exhibitor at Collect Open 2025 at Somerset House in London, Chris Turrell turns his focus to the concept of the King's Roads in Susanna Clarke's novel, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.
Captivated by the idea of these pathways leading to other realms, he has created a series of ceramic postcards and shaped plaques that draw on themes of medieval architecture, mythology, magic and places such as the Barbican conservatory and Derek Jarman’s Prospect Cottage.
Chris' work explores buildings, patterns and landscapes that inspire a sense of possibility and potential. Crafted in stoneware clay, these wall pieces evoke the essence of stone, earth and magic. List of available works HERE.
