At the Threshold with CAMP

Samhain or Hallowe’en is a time of year when the division between the living and the dead is felt to be at its thinnest. Field System and CAMP are pleased to present a small-group exhibition of work by CAMP members who engage with the liminal, the folkloric, or the local as we move from light to dark, from warm to cold.

Featuring new works from Jim Carter, Lucca Catharina, Iris Morgan, Stuart Robinson and Nicola Westlake.

Jim Carter – A land artist using found organic materials, Jim creates sculptures honoring animal life and climate consciousness. His works for the exhibition mark seasonal cycles, presenting masks, hands, idols, and boundary markers as ritual instruments crafted from branch and bone.

Lucca Catharina – A self-taught multidisciplinary artist, Lucca works across drawing, sculpture, video, and performance. Their pieces draw on Gavin’s Big Night Out, a forthcoming illustrated book exploring folk-inspired animal guising, transformative dancefloors, and the ritual energy where identities shift and social dynamics are remade.

Iris Morgan – A queer Cymreig illustrator from Plymouth, Iris reimagines trans+ histories through myth and world-building. For this show, she presents treasures from Fraizer’s Second Spring, handmade objects symbolizing transformation and evolving over time.

Nicola Westlake – Working with analogue and digital pinhole photography, Nicola draws on tree mythology and the Celtic Ogham. She presents three stitched artist books inspired by Samhain, combining symbolic tree images with family photos, poems, and riddles.

Stuart Robinson – A sculptor and installation artist from Penryn, Stuart reflects on childhood journeys and rituals. Their work examines sites like Avebury Henge and the Cerne Giant, exploring how sacred places become tourist landmarks and celebrating artefacts and memories along the way.
