Eostre Wax Modelling Workshop – Make a Pendant Necklace with Studio Rua

Celebrate Eostre and Mother’s Day with an afternoon of creativity and connection at Field System Gallery. Join Ruth from Studio Rua learning to model a pendant in wax, which will then be cast in metal off site after the workshop. You will be creating the design using the ancient technique of lost wax casting, which is what Ruth uses to make all her jewellery. Inspired by renewal, light, and the turning of the seasons.
Working with soft sculptural wax, you’ll design and hand-model a unique pendant guided by Ruth’s gentle tuition. Explore intuitive mark-making, take impressions from found natural objects, and learn how to work expressively with this tactile medium. Your wax design will then be cast off-site in bronze or silver and returned to you as a finished necklace — complete with a gold-filled or silver chain.
This workshop invites time for slow making and reflection, perfect for gifting yourself, a loved one, or both for sharing a creative afternoon together. All materials are provided (please bring an apron if you’d like), and no experience is needed.
Each ticket includes one cast pendant (bronze or silver), chain, and follow-up delivery. Please allow around 3 weeks for your cast pendant to arrive in bronze and 4-5 for silver.
We provide: Drinks and all materials.
