Hare by Tabby Booth
Rendered in oil paint and wax on a beautiful vintage, found wooden bowl, it is 53 x 35cm and approximately 9.5cm deep. Tabby’s hare leaps into the bowl from old lore, bright-eyed and full of magic!
Cornwall-based artist Tabby Booth creates work that sits enchantingly between illustration and folk art, drawing on myth, beasts, and the old stories. Tabby studied illustration at Central Saint Martins and later co-founded Cygnets Art School and Sailors Jail Gallery in Falmouth with her husband, artist James Heslip. They now live near Penzance, in a pink house on a hill, an environment as story-soaked and characterful as the work she makes.
