The Wandering Man 2 (2024) Asha Uberoi
Glazed ceramic (earthenware) on driftwood
H11-H14 x W5 cm
Asha Uberoi is a ceramicist based in South Gloucestershire. Her work reimagines artefacts as folkloric characters, living secretive, otherworldly lives beyond our limited knowledge. She searches for the faces hidden in her local landscape and listens for the quiet voices of overlooked histories, inspiring the creation of her unique ceramic figures. Her influences range from the turrets of Bath Abbey and the historic cloth trade of Frome, to ancient Greek bells and Egyptian Organ pots.
She is currently an artist in residence at 44AD Artspace in Bath. She has previously worked across collaborative residencies including Merge in Frome (2025) and was awarded the Porthleven Prize residency and exhibition in Cornwall (2023). She currently holds a commissioned position as a creative researcher in residence at Bath Spa University, with a research focus on the perception and re-interpretation of British history and folklore amongst primary school-aged children.
